AFRO-LATIN FIESTA: Message From Gambia...

🌍🔥 FOLKTALES PRESENTS — AFRO-LATIN FIESTA: MESSAGE FROM GAMBIA 🔥🌍
THE FINALE OF FINALES
Saturday 7 November 2026 | 6PM–LATE
Fox & Firkin, Lewisham
Three years ago, Folktales began with a simple belief: that music can reconnect us to stories, cultures and people we thought were oceans apart.
Since then, we’ve travelled through deserts, jungles, cities and coastlines — from Sahraoui Summer to Accra, from psychedelic cumbia to Kongo Get Down.
Now, for the final chapter of AFRO-LATIN FIESTA 2026, the message comes from Gambia.
And this one is BIG.
🪕 HEADLINER: SUNTOU SUSSO & THE GAMBIAN SUPERSTARS
For the first time in the UK, internationally acclaimed kora maestro, singer-songwriter and composer Suntou Susso joins forces with his homegrown band, The Gambian Superstars, bringing the full force of their Gambian & Senegalese tour to London for the final night of their UK headline tour.
Born into the ancient Griot tradition of the Mandinka people, Suntou carries a lineage in which music is more than entertainment — it is history, memory, wisdom and transmission.
His 22-string kora speaks from a tradition stretching back 700 years, while his award-winning music reaches boldly into the future, fusing Afro-Manding roots with jazz, funk, soul and contemporary sounds.
This is heritage alive.
This is musicianship at the highest level.
This is where The Future is Ancestral.
And when the Gambian Superstars hit the stage, expect the kind of sunshine energy that makes sitting still completely unreasonable.
“The music, the joy, I’ve never seen so much energy and dancing… everyone was up and moving.”
— Rachel Naylor, Kings Place
🌴 SUPPORT: LAS CHANCHAS
The rising London trio bringing a fresh, fearless twist to Chicha and psychedelic cumbia.
Small in formation. Huge in flavour.
Expect hypnotic tropical rhythms, infectious grooves and a whole lot of movement as Las Chanchas shake up the London Latin scene.
🪩 DJ MOUSSA
French-Ivorian selector, cultural explorer and one half of Mamoussa.
From Afrobeats and Afrohouse to Congolese rumba, bossa nova, zouk, disco and beyond, Moussa refuses to be boxed into a genre — exactly the spirit we need for this fiesta.
And after absolutely shelling it at Kongo Get Down!, we're handing him the keys once again.
🌋 AND THEN… THE AFTERPARTY
The live show runs 6PM–11PM.
But we’re nowhere near finished.
Once the Superstars leave the stage, the fiesta transforms into a late-night Afro-diasporic afterparty, with multiple DJs taking us through the night until morning.
Because this isn't just the end of a tour.
And it isn't just the final Afro-Latin Fiesta of 2026.
It marks three years of Folktales.
Three years of gathering people around music, movement, culture, curiosity and joy.
So for one final time this year:
Come for the music.
Come for the lineage.
Come for the reunion.
Come for the madness.
Bring your people.
Bring your dancing shoes.
Bring your finest self.
Because we're making enough room for three times the crowd, three times the energy and one hell of a finale.
AFRO-LATIN FIESTA: MESSAGE FROM GAMBIA
The final chapter.
The beginning of the next story.
The Future is Ancestral.
