Terms & Conditions
Last updated: May 2025
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Roam London (“the Service”) you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
Roam London is a free, web-based travel information service for London. It provides journey planning, live TfL status data, AI-assisted travel advice, and station information. The Service is provided “as is” without any guarantee of availability, accuracy or completeness.
3. Data accuracy and liability
Live transport data is sourced from Transport for London’s Open Data API. While we strive to present accurate and timely information, we cannot guarantee that all data is correct, complete or up to date at all times.
You should not rely solely on Roam for safety-critical travel decisions. Always check official TfL channels (tfl.gov.uk) for the most authoritative information, particularly during disruptions or when travelling late at night.
Roam London accepts no liability for losses, delays, missed connections, or other consequences arising from reliance on information provided by the Service.
4. AI-generated content
The AI travel assistant is powered by Anthropic’s Claude. Responses are generated automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. AI-generated content does not constitute official transport advice.
Do not submit personally sensitive information (financial details, passwords, ID numbers) to the AI chat.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Attempt to overload, scrape or attack our infrastructure
- Submit harmful, illegal, or offensive content to the AI assistant
- Circumvent any rate-limiting or access controls we implement
- Reproduce, redistribute or commercialise the Service or its data without permission
We reserve the right to block access to users who abuse the Service.
6. Intellectual property
The Roam London name, logo, and design are the property of the Service operator. TfL data is used under TfL’s Open Government Licence. The underlying open-source components are subject to their respective licences (MIT, Apache 2.0 etc.).
7. Third-party links and services
The Service may include links to third-party websites (Google Maps, TfL, etc.). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices or availability of those external sites.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Roam available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, or changes to TfL’s API may result in temporary unavailability. We will attempt to communicate planned outages in advance where possible.
9. Changes to the service
We may update, modify, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when terms were last revised.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be submitted via the AI chat on Roam or through our GitHub repository at github.com/rh87uk/roam-london.
