About this event

Nice N' Spiky is moving in at Corner Corner, and we're starting the way we mean to go on: with a stacked Friday night line-up.

Headlining is Kae Kurd, star of Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and Celebrity MasterChef. Eshaan Akbar (QI, Mock the Week, Netflix's Sex Education) keeps the night moving as your host. They're joined by social media star and Funny Women Awards 2025 finalist Rachel Galvo, and the brilliantly offbeat Jack Barry (Netflix's Feel Good, Starstruck).

Kae Kurd

Kae Kurd has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, Celebrity MasterChef and The Apprentice: You're Fired. He was also seen on Dave's World's Most Dangerous Roads. He co-hosts the Wayne Rooney Podcast for the BBC and the podcast Ain't Got a Clue, and he is the voice of ITV's Loaded in Paradise. Away from the stage he is an in-demand TV writer, with credits including Have I Got News For You, Cunk & Other Humans and A League of Their Own.

Eshaan Akbar

Eshaan has appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and QI, and was the first person of Bangladeshi heritage on those shows. He played Principal Lakhani in the fourth season of Netflix's Sex Education. He voiced Rishi Sunak, Sajid Javid and Narendra Modi on Spitting Image. He supported Micky Flanagan on tour, and also starred in BBC's Pilgrimage. Before comedy Eshaan worked as a banker, policy adviser, speechwriter and journalist.

Rachel Galvo

Rachel is a Dublin-born, London-based comic and social media star, with more than 100,000 fans online for her takes on everyday life. TikTok named her in its Best of Irish list for 2024. She trained in musical theatre at Mountview. Her debut show The Shite Feminist sold out across the UK and Ireland, including Dublin's 1,200-seat Olympia Theatre. She played to a packed tent at Electric Picnic and had a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run in 2025. That same year she was a finalist in the Funny Women Awards. Chortle praised her electric presence and total command of the room.

Jack Barry

Jack is a comedy actor, writer and stand-up. He was a series regular in Mae Martin's Feel Good (Netflix) and appeared in Rose Matafeo's Starstruck (BBC/HBO). His other TV credits include The Russell Howard Hour, Catastrophe and Cuckoo. He has written for Mock the Week and supported Russell Howard, James Acaster, Joe Lycett and Marc Maron on tour. He calls himself "the most famous comedian no one's heard of", though you might know his face from the front of McCoy's crisp packets. He also has a degree in Chinese.
